Hi,

By freeze I mean total lock-up. No keyboard, no mouse, nada. It happens within 3 minutes of turning on the computer. To take drivers and such out of the equation, I left my computer on the boot loader (dual boot linux/winXP) and it froze.

Is there anyway that drivers could still be an issue here? I'm going to start checking all my hardware possibilities, but I need to get rid of the software issue first.

Thanks so much for your reply.

Well, today I decided to change out the hot water line which feeds the bathroom sink. The connection was cobbled together because 2 years ago I couldn't find one which had the correct fittings and the other day I just happened upon one so there I was under the sink.

After I finished that little chore, and while I was still under the sink, I decided I would see why the drain was running so slow even though we had put various drain unclogging materials in it. (ominous music starts playing so...

Couldn't find a 'right-click' section, so here goes...

Can anyone tell me where right click starts from? I have found it in 'Startup (user)' but I can't find it anywhere else. The reason I ask is that when I boot up, the right click 'edit desktop menus' window shows up. I can duplicate that by trying to start right click again, so RC must be starting twice on boot up, but I can't find the second location. I don't use the MCP (that I know of) It's not set to start in the SDC options menu...

"...The famous U.S. hospital would have to take her seriously, Baloch knew, when it realized she was prepared to post its confidential patient records on the Internet. That is, unless UCSF helped her get the money she was owed from the mysterious Tom Spires, her link in a long chain of medical transcription subcontractors.

I just saw Big Fish for the second time, and for the second time I bawled my eyes out. My son made fun of me. He said I was worse than a chick at the Titanic. He's 13. What does he know.

I tried to explain to him. I wasn't sad, I was joyous. When that movie ends, it feels that all is right with the world. I'm cynical and I've seen too much the dark side of this world. So when something leaves you with the feeling that everything is OK, it's a good thing to cry, to allow yourself to fe...

My oldest son wears same black, heavy, denim pants everyday. Every couple of days I insist he wash them. The thing about these black pants is the it has about ten straps going from one side to the other.

I noticed that there are a lot of kids these days wearing these strappy pants. My daughter has a pair, but they are of a very light fabric and are of a light color.

They do constantly get hung up on things and are constantly getting ripped off one end or the other. All the kids complai...

I've only had 2 serious recurring dreams in my life and it wouldn't take Jung or Freud to figure them out.

The first started happening around 11 years of age. My parents weren't really getting along very well. This really bothered me and only got worse as time went on.

My eyes open, I'm looking down at my sleeping self. I'm above the light above my bed. It's a very soft, almost glowing, light. It doesn't not penetrate the surrounding room, just me sleeping in my bed.

My eyes close....

FLEAS!!!!!!

By the billions. We spray, vacuum, wash, clean, spray, medicate, flea collar, vacuum, spray. Nothing. They are absolutely freakin' everywhere. We decontaminated the cats when we brought them in from the outside, (see article #3) but something went horribly wrong. They are now in the main house. In every room. In every crack and crevice.

Seriously, we have tried every know flea killing product known to modern and stone age man. We have followed up 2 weeks later. We have...

We have two cats (2 dogs, 2 snakes, 10 fish, lord only knows how many Siberian Dwarf hampsters) which, until recently were outside cats. They are pretty mellow felines as felines go and didn't really stray far from the house.

One day the little old lady from across the street approached me saying that one of my cats was sleeping on her porch at night and asked if I could put a stop to it. When I asked if the cat was causing a problem by sleeping on her porch she said that it was shedding on...

Ok, so the day had been totally horrible, bad from the get-go. I stubbed my toe when I woke up and knocked stuff of the side table in my hopping-around-trying-not-to-scream dance. Things just went downhill from there at work.

When I got home I was greeted by my daughter who was in fine hormonal form. "DADDY!!!!, MY COMPUTER ISN'T WORKING ANYMORE!!!!" I could not get her to talk to me in a normal voice. I went in to see what I could see.

The computer was working, but not connecting to t...

So I've got 3 teenagers, 2 boys and a girl. I've got a wife (25 years), a job, a mortgage, and carpayments. I have things around the house I'm constantly fixing, a large number of which are caused by the aforementioned teenagers.

I'm just getting really intimate with my Canon A80. We've been partying for about 2 months, time to take it to the next level, but I'm a little afraid of commitment just now.

I've never done this blogging thing before, so be kind. I always received bad grades ...

Sponsored by Reps. Howard Berman, D-Calif., and Howard Coble, R-N.C., the measure would permit copyright holders to perform nearly unchecked electronic hacking if they have a "reasonable basis" to believe that piracy is taking place. Berman and Coble plan to introduce the 10-page bill this week.
The legislation would immunize groups such as the Motion Picture Association of America and the Recording Industry Association of America from all state and federal laws if they disable, block or otherw...
