An average life
Published on May 9, 2004 By werewolf In Welcome
So I've got 3 teenagers, 2 boys and a girl. I've got a wife (25 years), a job, a mortgage, and carpayments. I have things around the house I'm constantly fixing, a large number of which are caused by the aforementioned teenagers.

I'm just getting really intimate with my Canon A80. We've been partying for about 2 months, time to take it to the next level, but I'm a little afraid of commitment just now.

I've never done this blogging thing before, so be kind. I always received bad grades on my English journals in high school. The teacher kept telling me I need to reach down further, get more in touch with my feelings. Some of those journal entries had blood, guts and ripped off pieces of my heart and soul on the pages.

So why am I trying this? Don't really know. I've been reading some of yours. Specially DharmaGrl, I read all of hers. I like them, I'd like to be able to do that as well as she. I'll try to be humerous when I can, so these things won't be really boring all the time. Mostly I need an outlet. I need someplace I can dump. Perhaps get some feedback. Whatever. It's all new, so I'll just see what happens.

Thanks for stopping by.

Well this is just sad and pathetic. I can't "Create New Article". ARggg... I though of a bunch of stuff to write about and can't do it so I have to comment on my own story.
I don't quite get the 'points' thing. Is this some kind of contest? Not being sarcastic or anything. I noticed that when I made a comment on an article, my points went up. Are the points for participation? I must go in search of answers.

David, are you still having problems creating a new article?  If so, drop me an email, or contact T-Man (pford@stardock.com) so that we can get it fixed for you.

There are two point systems, one for the site, and one for the user.  The site one is based on your articles, how many people respond, referrals and a whole bunch of stuff.  The user one is based on participation, "trolling" and "insightful" points, etc.  At the bottom of this page there is a "scoring system" link that can help you understand how everything is calculated.

It's great to see you here on JU!  Thanks again for your comment on my article!

Thanks for the name drop...and welcome!

What you said about this being an outlet, someplace you can 'dump' really stuck a chord with me.  I think that's what I use my blog as.  The feedback is awesome; we have some really great people blogging alonside us.  If its possible to create and maintain a close 'cyber-friendship'..well, I have done just that here, many times over.

I wouldn't worry too much about your writing style, as long as we can read it no-one complains too much.

Again, welcome, thanks for reading my stuff, and blog on!

Welcome!  Like Dharma said, don't worry about the style--you've mastered the use of paragraphs and that's definitely more than some around here!

Looking forward to the next installment!
